Notre Dame Welcomes America's Youth in Parade

All summer, the University of Notre Dame has been playing host to kids from around the nation that come to South Bend for our outstanding youth sports camps. But this week, the university is hosting a new batch of youngsters: the girls from America’s Youth on Parade. Droves of children poured into the Joyce Center this morning to begin competing in the National and World Twirling Championships, which is being called the “World Series of Baton Twirling” on their website. Strong and Steady through Day Three of Volleyball Camp

Day three got off to a great start with a few demonstrations of combos by Notre Dame Volleyball players. This morning, the campers focused on combo, blocking, and defense. At the conclusion of the morning session, all of the campers and staff sang happy birthday to Coach Debbie Brown’s mother via cell phone who turned 89 today. Campers "Spiked" About Volleyball Session 2 Camp

Session two of Volleyball Camp spiked into action Thursday afternoon. Campers have been bumping, setting, and attacking all over the Joyce Center Fieldhouse and the Purcell Pavilion. This high school aged camp has been busy working on technique and acquiring new skills. Over the past two days, campers have had scrimmages, watched an introduction to the Notre Dame Volleyball team video, and had the opportunity to do specialty work. Campers have been split up into teams based on skill level and will play in a tournament on the final day of camp. Read More
